Give it a defined block…Tuesdays 2-5pm, done. That's how faculty workload stops eating your week alive.
Office hours
Its own block, its own day. You wouldn't schedule two lectures back to back with no prep time. Same rule applies here.
What's left in the semester - Visible and color coded
Red for remaining deadlines. Blue for research. Green for teaching commitments. Yellow for admin. One glance tells you your pending tasks before summer starts.
