Simple Ways to Support Your Mental Health

Your Mind Needs a Break Too.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Instead of telling you to download an app, we’re going to give you some ideas to disrupt your pattern, things that are easily digestible and can hopefully help with mental clarity.

Here are 8 ideas to brighten your day:

  • Take a 20-minute walk and leave your phone at home.
  • Call a friend and go on an ice cream date.
  • Sing along to your favorite songs... dance to them if needed!
  • Put your phone in another room and read a book or an interesting article for 30 minutes.
  • Send a quick text to someone you care about, just telling them you're thinking about them.
  • Read the community noticeboard at your local cafe, see if there’s anything you want to get involved in.
  • Fill a full page in a notebook or journal. Write anything that crossed your mind or anything that happened today.
  • Open your planner and set one intention for tomorrow.

The Hard Truth.

Your brain runs on autopilot. Before you've had coffee, you're three tabs deep and already feeling behind and overwhelmed. Pattern disruption is a small, deliberate break in that loop… one thing done differently before the day writes itself.

Any item on the list is a good place to start. It creates newness and a sense of control.

Intentional living starts with one good day. Plan it on a visible wall calendar, somewhere you can see it.
